Spencer Koerner

Spencer joined the firm in 2026. He grew up mostly in Southern and Central California, with some time spent in Maryland and Nevada.

Spencer studied philosophy and political science at the University of California, San Diego between 2017-2021. Most of his studies were centered around different political theories throughout history. When not studying, he worked as an outdoor guide, guiding a variety of camping, hiking, surfing, and backpacking trips along the West Coast.

He attended the University of Oregon School of Law in 2021. After a year in law school, he took a course on labor law and arbitration and found his passion for the labor movement. Spencer expanded his interest by clerking for SEIU 503 for his final year of law school. Outside of his coursework, Spencer was involved with the National Lawyers Guild (NLG), especially with helping organize their week against mass incarceration where they hosted a variety of speakers to talk about changes necessary to fix our broken prison system. 

After law school, Spencer was involved in a couple of different roles in the labor movement. He spent the 2024 election cycle as a canvasser for the Oregon AFL CIO. He then worked as a council representative with Oregon AFSCME and worked with unique independent contractor units, where he was involved in negotiating multiple contracts and advocating for childcare providers and medical interpreters.

During his free time, Spencer really enjoys climbing, camping, movies, and board games.
